The band is trying to convey their personal feelings about religion, and it so happens that several people agree with them. Christianity has a long and bloody history, and some choose to follow the religion in spite of this, and some choose to recognize the darker areas of this faith. To each their own.

This is one of the problems I have with Christians; you act like "hah, at least we don't think we're the center of the universe..." I have read all the comments and come to one conclusion. So to the Muslims, Christians, and Atheists and all who have commented, here is my brilliant observation. Slayer is the best band that I have ever heard, freaking ever. It is about the music, sit back relax and enjoy the genius of the Gods of Heavy Metal. The only song better than the last one is the next one, even if the next one is the last one. Think about it, Slayer has managed to be consistently in tune with absolute perfection since their inception. I will continue to buy their albums unheard because I know I will never be let down. What more can I say except hail Allah, hail Yahweh, hail nobody, but do it while listening to Slayer!! :)

i find the vast majority of the comments above full of anger and of hatred. these are not coming from external sources. they are coming from within. it means a lot of people have never experienced kindness, compassion, and care. i find that very sad.

Wow, the first comments I see are about the crusades? Someone's touchy. Just so you know, historically the crusades were a response to the rapid growth of Islam and it's violent take over of the known world of the time. It was actually a defensive move....Still not saying it wasn't a bad thing. Though I'm still wondering at how Christianity can be attributed as the most violent religion when Jesus's teachings are about loving your neighbor as your self.
