Yeah, "motion personified alpha" is a product of Devin's creation and only he seems to know exactly what he meant. AFAIK, Arjen has no idea himself.

I cannot be sure but I can imagine:
Motion is chaos, the lack of order, thus motion is change. Change and chaos is the end of what was, of what is predicted, it is pain for the sane, those who expect, those who are adjusted. Pain would be the alpha, the leader of the motion, personified. No change is needed if there is no pain, nor does pain happen if there is no motion.
