Bad Company
Bad Company
Company Always on the run
Destiny is the rising sun
Oh I was born 6-gun in my hand
Behind a gun I'll make my final stand
That's why they call me
Bad company
And I can't deny
Bad company
Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Rebel souls
Deserters we are called
Chose a gun and threw away the sun
Now these towns
They all know our name 6-gun sound is our claim to fame
I can hear them say
Bad company
And I won't deny
Bad Bad company
Till the day I die
Till the day I die
SOLO
Bad
Bad company
I can't deny
Bad company
Till the day I die
And I say it's
Bad company Oh Yeah---Yeah
Bad company
Till the day I die Oh Yeah
Tell me that you are not a thief
Oh But I am
Bad Company
It's the way I play
Dirty for dirty
Oh Somebody Double-crossed me
Double-cross
Double-cross
Yeah
We're Bad company
Kill in cold blood

I believe the line is "Chose a gun and threw away the sword" not "threw away the sun".
No... I do believe it's "threw away the Son".
Of course it's threw away the sun!
If you listen at 1:45 he puts emphasis on the "ord" if you listen to the song and lyrics at the same time it's defiantly sword.
It's obvious to anybody with anything at all between their ears that it's "sword". Why you throw away the sun for Christ's sake?
I think they say sun in reference to choosing darkness, you know one of those metaphor things. At least that's what and why I think that.
It is definately "sun". I just saw them live in Boston & had front row tickets. Paul Rodgers sang "threw away the sun." It seems pretty obvious anyway - sun rhymes with "gun".
cool song. I think it is sun.
It is sun, refering to no longer being a goodguy taking up a gun to getrevenge on the ones who Doublecrossed him and did him wrong. The darkside in otherwords,Throwing away the sun for darkness.
It's "...threw away the Son." You have to understand those days back then when everyone was a God Fearing person. In old times, if you turned to killing, thieving, and so on, people referred to you as a "person that threw away the Son" and turned away from the teachings of the bible. I am not overly religous, just somewhat of a history buff
its i was born witha shotgun in my hand, not 6 gun
Tell me that you are not a thief
Oh But I am
Bad Company
It's the way I play
Dirty for dirty
Oh Somebody Double-crossed me
Double-cross
Double-cross
that isnt even in the song. not in mine anyway.
and the first 6-gun is shotgun
the second 6-gun is the death punch sound.
Also, its definitely son/sun. not sword.
Um...Chewer...This song is a lot older than you and FFDP. Go talk to your parents about music.
Just sayn
Agreed. "Sun."
I'd say its sun as in always on the run and hiding and being in prison.
I think that it is "sun" and not sword. Five Finger Punch is singing the words "sun". Sun meaning, the light, as opposed to "darkness". Chose darkness over light. I think this song is about a desserting company in the Civil War.
Chewer, you're knowledge of music seems limited. This is the original 'bad company' by the band 'bad company', not the cover done by ffdp. This is a much better version anyway
I think that all of you need to visit a hearing specialist, the verse is - "Rebel souls deserters we are called, chose a gun and threw away the sword" it's about soldiers who fought in the American Civil War, deserted, threw away their swords, chose a gun and became outlaws, how thick are you lot, very thick indeed.
*cough*GordonSucks*cough* *cough*
don't bother with a come back I will not return.
I love your. Song one of my favorite and might sing it in a talent show
Don't bother entering the show Noodles, you have no talent
I don't know what it is , I ain't from around here.
The original liner notes in my vinyl album has "threw away the son". It is not sun or sword.
I recorded Bad Co on my DVR live from the Hard Rock in 2008. Let me assure you all he says SWORD. Clearly. Issue over.
Badco is all my youth...
Threw away the song not son, not sun, not sword. (I always thought it was sword) but its song I tell ya.
and its I was born six gun in my hand not shotgun
"I" make my final stand.. not I'll
chose a gun and threw away the "sound"
re: the ideas or impressions conveyed by words.
Now these towns
They all know our name "6-gun sound" is our claim to fame..
The words are Threw Away the sword. The reference is to the swords that Civil War soldiers wore. See the movie Branded where the Army Court Martials Chuck Conners. They break his sword in two. It's a part of the ceremony to show the soldier's honor has been stripped.
