Moonglow Lyrics
Artist: Benny Goodman
Moonglow
- words by Eddie De Lange, music by Will Hudson and Irving Mills
- as recorded in New York August 20, 1934 by Ethyl Waters (1896-1977)
with members of the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra.
It must have been moonglow, way up in the blue
It must have been moonglow that led me straight to you
I still hear you sayin', "Dear one, hold me fast"
And I keep on prayin', "Oh Lord, please let this last"
We seemed to float right through the air
Heavenly songs seemed to come from everywhere
And now when there's moonglow, way up in the blue
I'll always remember, that moonglow gave me you
It must have been moonglow, way up in the blue
It must have been moonglow that led me straight to you
I still hear you sayin', "Sweet child, hold me fast"
And I keep on prayin', "Oh Lord, please let this last"
We seemed to float right through the air
Heavenly songs seemed to come from everywhere
And now when there's moonglow, way up in the blue
I'll always remember, that moonglow gave me you

Comments/Interpretations
NEED A PRINTABLE VIRSION OF THE LYRICS.
Where could listen to this marvelous song, so it might be possibel to put word by word in the song?
Listen to MOONGLOW by the Benny Goodman Quartet featuring Benny, Gene Krupa(drums), Teddy Wilson (piano) and Lionel Hampton (vibraphone) and you're in for the treat of a lifetime..then go on to the version by Artie Shaw and his orchestra..magnifico.. and with a slight difference listen to Billie Holiday sing this..all terrific interpretations
Does anyone have, or know of, a recording by the BG quartet of Moonglow, where Benny sings the vocals? I once owned it but, alas, it is gone with the wind.
I saw two movies this week both of which were set in the early thirties and which featured "Moonglow". I thought, "Gotcha!" This song comes form the movie"Picnic" from the late fifties. I now know I was wrong.
Thanks for setting me straight.
la version de Rod Stewart tambien es altamente recomendada
