God Only Knows Lyrics

Artist: Brian Wilson
Album: Live At The Roxy Theatre

I may not always love you
But long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I'll make you so sure about it

God only knows what I'd be without you

If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would living do me

God only knows what I'd be without you

God only knows what I'd be without you

If you should ever leave me
Well life would still go on believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would living do me

God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows
God only knows what I'd be without you

This is the theme of the HBO hit series, BIG LOVE. I'd almost forgotten about this song until I heard it again on that show. It reminded me of how much I love The Beach Boys' music.

It's touching to know that this song "God Only Knows..." makes Paul McCartney break down when he hears it. He also had the honor to sing it with Brian Wilson. Two legendary geniuses.

My daughter and I were riding in the car one day recently. This song came on and after the second chorus I began to cry. Like I do when I hear this. She said, "Dad, you're such a cry-baby." I said, "Make sure the man you marry cries when he hears this song".

Thanks for the above comment China Rider. I know how you felt. The utter beauty and simplicity of this song is so enchanting. Penned by the young Brian Wilson who was only in his early 20s. One of the most romantic love songs ever to grace the airwaves. Heavenly.
