So Far Away Lyrics
Artist: Carole King
Album: So Far Away
So far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're just time away
Long ago I reached for you and there you stood
Holding you again could only do me good
How I wish I could, but you're so far away
One more song about movin' along the highway
Can't say much of anything that's new
If I could only work this life out my way
I'd rather spend it bein' close to you.
But you're so far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're so far away
Yay-uh-ay-eee
Oh, so far away
Travelin' around sure gets me down and lonely
Nothin' else to do but close my mind
I sure hope the road don't come to own me
Yet so many dreams I've yet to fin-ind
But you're so far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
And it doesn't help to know you're so far away
Yay-uh-ay-eee
Oh, so far away
Yay, you're so faaaaaar away

Comments/Interpretations
Thanks, Carole King is one of the best song writers of our time!
its good
yeah she's AMAZING !! too bad that not much people know her ..
I came across this artist searching for a song that Reba sang on her TV show... I ended up downloading the entire album! She's gr8!
she is amazing, but i think it was way better when jennette mccurdy sang this.
Apparently NoName and some of you others are too young to understand the historical significance of this song. NO ONE could sing this better than C.K., obviously why this album hasn't been out-sold by ANYONE since 1971.
PS: the last line in the 6th Verse starts with: "There's so many dreams" .. no "yet" . Just so you know.
