Was the Devil with a twinkle in his eye

Just then the Lord himself appeared in a blinding flash of light
And shouted at the devil Get thee hence to endless night
But the Devil just grinned and said I may have sinned

The lyrics are so beautiful, so poetic that i was forced to take a step back. It resonates within me an emotion that no modern songs can even comprehend. It's a shame chris de Burgh is more famous for the lady in red than this masterful work.

This song is brilliant, so well written both the music and the lyrics. I draw alot of inspiration from this song and its follow up "The Devils Eye" (which I urge all to listen too to find out what happens next) for my own lyrics.
