You Never Can Tell Lyrics
Artist: Chuck Berry
You Never Can Tell
It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well
You could see that Pierre did truly love the madamoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell,
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
They furnished off an apartment with a two room Roebuck sale
The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale,
But when Pierre found work, the little money comin' worked out well
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
They had a hi-fi phono, boy, did they let it blast
Seven hundred little records, all rock, rhythm and jazz
But when the sun went down, the rapid tempo of the music fell
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
They bought a souped-up jitney, 'twas a cherry red '53,
They drove it down to Orleans to celebrate the anniversary
It was there that Pierre was married to the lovely madamoiselle
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

i sang this song a thousand times with the boogie kings from south louisiana long before pulp fiction ever came out. it was always a crowd pleaser... i still do it at reunions with the boogie kings and still get a great reaction every time
Smarten up. They may have used the song in that movie but the song has nothing to do with the movie. It was a big hit decades before the movie was even thought of.
Smarten up? WTF? Nobody said it WASN'T a big hit eons ago. Dang, some old people are grouchy! Their dentures must not fit right or something...
You whippersnappers probably don't even know what a jitney is, let alone a coolerator
@Wileyhemi; LOL amen or hi-fi phono
Whippersnappers ha, old fogey dont get no snappers anymore! A coolerator was the first fridge created by an ancient humanoid creature. high fildelity polyphonic records, you mean vinyl? Thats for old people..OLD PEOPLE Young people can find pictures of anything they want on Google. Boy it's good to be young
my husband & i did the pulp fiction dance at our wedding last week, it was fantastic, everyone was cheering, such a laugh. everyone loves the song.
Vinyl is not for old people, it has superior quality to CDs or mp3. As a matter of fact, new albums still come out on vinyl to this day.
Going to sing it in South Africa. Will be a crowd pleaser 4 sure!
