Seven Days Lyrics
Artist: Corrosion Of Conformity
Album: Deliverance
Over time mistakes were few but I believe they're mine
Faded mind youth was old and the years were so unkind
I'm the one I face the change I know that stands before me
Believe in me cause I damn sure don't believe in you
I cannot deny myself my anger and pride
I cannot deny another lie
Waiting to find another spike right through my hand
Hope I'm killed before I die
Worlds divide, long ago the memorys still inside
Chances shine, seven days our fears become entwined
Seasons change our time is gone our souls have
grown much colder
Believe in me cause I damn sure don't believe in you
Never again are words that echo in my mind
Leaving still hold back the tide
Crucified with lies my blood turns in wine
Take a sip before I die
I cannot deny myself my anger and pride
I cannot deny another lie
Waiting to find another spike right through my hand
Hope I'm killed before I die
I cannot deny...
Before I...

Comments/Interpretations
*sigh* lot of feeling in this song
yeah i hate living day after day and crusifying myself to make other people happy when i cant even make myself happy
lather it up.
Damn good song. hits home.
a perfect song to me !!
And the seventh day, he rested.
This song is clearly about temporary happiness. So full of joy for such a brief period of time. It's about not appreciating your youth while you have it and taking it for granted. Also about not relying on people to make you happy but taking responsibility for the decisions you make, even if they turn out to be mistakes.
This is my take on this excellent song: Due to the many Biblical reverences, it is an interpretation of God's creation of mankind and then, after giving us life, his Son's betrayal (the crucifixion). Were we a mistake? Are we the product of multiple (7 day) science projects gone wrong? He's proud of us yet angry with our tendency to stray from His will. Or is He angry that his attempt at propagating His race failed over millennia?
This song's message ends the story (and God) at the crucifixion, however, Christianity is based on the crucifixion of Christ which pays and forgives the debt of our sins, if only we accept Christ as Lord.
This song is an interesting take on creation and the crucifixion delivered just the way I like it - heavy and metal. This song has made me think about the topic of 'how did we get here?', since I heard it first in '95.
