Angels Of The Silences Lyrics
Artist: Counting Crows
Album: Recovering The Satellites
Well I guess you left me with some feathers in my hand
Did it make it any easier to leave me where I stand?
I guess there might not be too many who would stand beside you now
Where'd you come from? Where am I going?
Why'd you leave me 'till I'm only good for...
Waiting for you
All my sins...
I said that I would pay for them if I could come back to you
All my innocence is wasted on the dead and dreaming
Every night these silhouettes appear above my head
Little angels of the silences that climb into my bed and whisper
Every time I fall asleep Every time I dream
"Did you come? Would you lie?
Why'd you leave us 'till we're only good for...
Waiting for you"
All my sins...
I said that I would pay for them if I could come back to you
All my innocence is wasted on the dead and dreaming
I dream of Michelangelo when I'm lying in my bed
Little angels hang above my head and read me like an open book
Suck my blood break my nerve offer me their arms
Well, I will not be an enemy of anything
I'll only stand here
Waiting for you
All my sins...
I said that I would pay for them if I could come back to you
All my innocence is wasted on the dead and dreaming

Comments/Interpretations
Class interpretation:
This song is clearly about drinking too much wine in Rome, and going home with a stranger, but he/she has a cool accent. After a night of too much reveling at the Sistine Chapel, they drink too much absinthe and end up having hallucinations of the green fairy who turns into a frog for no reason at all, and then a pretty cherub, which watches you while you're sleeping. It is an obvious reference to the hippy movement from the line, "I will not be an enemy of anything." Especially not Count Chocula. We think this pretty much sums up the song.

I find this song beautiful over all. I like the lyrics! ^-^
It's about a struggle with faith in God, and possibly also another person. It relates to the song "When I Dream Of Michelangelo", the meaning of which is well documented in interviews.
For me this song is about a woman in which he is in love with but cannot be with her for some reason or another.
He have sinned to be with her and it was for nothing because hes left waiting for her (All my innocence is wasted on the dead and dreaming)
He spends his night dreaming of her.
The last lines from the song are missing in these lyrics. :C
He sings:
I'm gone, I'm gone
I'll leave today
I'm gone
I'm gone, I'm gone
Take me away
I'm gone
I'm gone, I'm gone
I'll leave today
I'm gone I'm gone I'm gone I'm gone I'm gone
I'm gone
There you have it :3
I'm done. Are you?
