Jeane Manson
Music & Lyrics : T. Rice - A. Lloyd Webber
Notes : From "Jesus Christ Superstar",
also performed by "Yvonne Elliman"
I don't know how to love him, what to do, how to move him
I've been changed, yes really changed
In these past few days when I see myself, I seem like someone else
I don't know how to take this, I don't see why he moves me
He's a man, he's just a man
And I've had so many men before in very many ways, he's just one more
Should I bring him down, should I scream and shout
Should I speak of love, let my feelings out
I never thought I'd come to this, what's it all about
Don't you think it's rather funny that I should be in this position
I'm the one who's always been so calm, so cool, no lover's fool
Running every show, he scares me so
Should I bring him down, should I scream and shout
Should I speak of love, let my feelings out
I never thought I'd come to this, what's it all about
Yet, if he said he loved me, I'd be lost, I'd be frightened
I couldn't cope, just couldn't cope
I'd turn my head, I'd back away, I wouldn't want to know
He scares me so, I want him so, I love him so

Comments/Interpretations
I love this song so much as it reminds me of my life with my husband.
Mary Magdalene was NOT a prostitute. She was declared to be one by a Pope hundreds of years ago for a simple reason. If God can forgive a hooker (a bad, bad, bad sin) he WILL forgive you, also, whatever your sins. (This from an agnostic!) But I digress. Imagine you're a hooker. This guy (JESUS) comes into your life, and treats you with love and respect. All of your relations with men have been abusive, shallow, degrading, and dirty. Suddenly, you see a totally different side of men. Love, warmth... pleasure in your company (not just your body.) This is how Mary Magdalene felt. That's what this song is about.
Mary Magdalene is a fairy tale & catholics harbor pedophiles
james, I'm an atheist and your comment has no place here. The song is beautiful in a purely human way and you've demeaned that for the sake of your own dim arrogance.
