Across The Bridge Lyrics
Artist: Jim Reeves
Album: We Thank Thee
I have lived a life of sin in this world I'm living in
I have done forbidden things I shouldn't do
I asked a beggar along the way he could tell me where to stay
Where I could find real happiness and love that's true
Across the bridge there's no more sorow across the bridge there's no more pain
The sun will shine across the river and you'll never be unhappy again
[ organ ]
Follow the footsteps of the King till you hear the voices ring
They'll be singing out the glory of the land
The river Jordan will be near the sound of trumpet you will hear
And you'll behold the most precious places ever known to man
Across the bridge there's no more sorow...
Across the bridge there's no more sorow...

Comments/Interpretations
The song is so nice,i cant imagine if Jim Reeves could be alive this time, may he rest in peace, amen
It's been at least 20 years since I heard the song. I just hit me that there was more to this song just as there is to day. A great song indeed, I have found that peace I longed for. Thank God for Jim Reeves. Selah
a real inspired song that made me to know that this world is not my own.there is a better place for me in heaven.God let me there when the time comes
The song is nice.
I never knew this song. My mum passed away on 23 April 2012 and she asked a friend that she would like her children to make the song her dedication. I was eager to research what exactly Jim meant and I am satisfied and know that there is a better place after death and also I now know that my mum is in a better place. May her dear soul rest in eternal peace.
No one has ever sang a song with such a great inspiring voice like that of Jim reeves, he has been my source of inspiration. God be with him.

It is indeed an inspiring song. The song could be used as a soundtrack for a Christian figurative play: Pilgrim's Progress. It's a song that reminds us of our journey in this life and that there is indeed the world to come. Amen.
