Around and Around Lyrics
Artist: John Denver
Album: Poems Prayers & Promises
This song was first released on the Poems, Prayers and Promises Album. It is the only album it has been released on.
Time as Ive known it
Doesnt take much time to pass by me
Minutes into days turn into months turn into years
They hurry by me
Still I love to see the sun go down
And the world go around
Dreams full of promises
Hopes for the future
Ive had many
Dreams I cant remember now
Hopes that Ive forgotten
Faded memories
Still I love to see the sun go down
And the world go around
And I love to see the morning
As it steals across the sky
I love to remember
And I love to wonder why
And I hope that Im around
So I can be there when I die
When Im gone
I hope that you will think of me
In moments when youre happy
And youre smiling
That a thought will comfort you
On cold and cloudy days
If you are crying
Still I love to see the sun go down
And the world go around
And around and around

Comments/Interpretations
great song
The third to last line is: That you love to see the sun go down.
Greetings to you and to John's great soul.
It was back in early 1970s, while I was training to become an aircraft technician in Texas, that I first heard this song together with his Sunshine On My Shoulders. Till that time I used to listen only to Ravi Shankar's Sitar and other types of Indian music and songs. But I was moved, so to speak, so deeply by these two songs that I fell in love with John's sound as well as the melodies. At that time I was 22. Today at the age of 58 and in the light of holographic understanding of the world, life and existence I feel with more profound certainty that humanity's onness is an irrefutable fact.
With love from me and from my wife (who's now listening to John)for all who loved and still love John.
Rose is right.
