My Sweet Lady Lyrics

Artist: John Denver

My Sweet Lady
John Denver
Words and Music by John Denver

Lady, are you crying, do the tears belong to me
Did you think our time together was all gone
Lady, you've been dreaming, I'm as close as I can be
And I swear to you our time has just begun

Close your eyes and rest your weary mind
I promise I will stay right here beside you
Today our lives were joined, became entwined
I wish that you could know how much I love you

Lady, are you happy, do you feel the way I do
Are there meanings that you've never seen before
Lady, my sweet lady, I just can't believe it's true
And it's like I've never, ever loved before

(Chorus)

Lady, are you crying, do the tears belong to me
Did you think our time together was all gone
Lady, my sweet lady, I'm as close as I can be
And I swear to you our time has just begun

Tess....for you. Did you think our time together was all gone? Your quote - "There will ALWAYS be hope!" - is sustaining me, along with God's strength. Today is very, very hard...maybe tomorrow will be better. "One Day" will certainly be BEST. W <3 t2

I was driving today and feeling sad because of some circumstances. I was crying and this gentle song came on. It was like the Lord was speaking to me...I believe He was...and it meant so much to me. I came home and looked up the words, and I'm blessed again! Thank you Lord.

My mother just passed on and a wonderful gentleman played this on his harmonica at her service. Oh how I cried.... It was so beautiful. I miss you Mom-
