Imagine Lyrics
Artist: John Lennon
Album: Imagine
Imagine
John Lennon And The Plastic Ono Band
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

great song! it really has meaning behind it and depth...you just have to think outside the box and beyond the lyrics

i wonder what john was thinking of while writing this.. hmmm..
this song rocks
There was an older man who was a philosiphor who would say "Imagine"before he would say something profound. He said to me "Imagine a world without war."as he tooka a sip of his scotch. It stuck in my mind. He was a Veteran of Korea.
That is how the song came about.
cool
i love john's DICK<33(:
Definitely my favouite song ever. The lyrics just kind of grab a hold you and really make you think!
millions of people love this song but only the ear which can really hear the lyrics no what john is really singing about (the new world order) thats why he was murdered sorry the word MURDERED should have been in capital letters it's ok listening to a song and enjoying it reading between the lines is difficult
This is a sad song. This is the worst John Lennon song ever. He was crying in it. He was talking about death in it. He talked about the world ending after death. He was grieving his friend, Ivan Vaughn's death.
Hey Dixie, Ivan Vaughan died in 1993 so unless Lennon had the ability to see 22 years into the future, I'd say that makes you crackers.
to: Ed Rivza - that was NOT how the song came about at all. John Lennon & George Harrison were into PEACE & Harmony & Spirituality & after their experiences in India with the Guru & the pandemonium of Beatle-mania & the Political affect of the time re: wars in Vietnam etc...we were all very "hippy" & many songs of the time reflected that. This isn't the only song of depth -but his death has elevated it to favoritism with nonbelievers. Look at Bob Dylans Peace songs, Pete,Paul & Mary protest songs, Pete seager etc.... that is where John got his ideas from.
