Jackson Lyrics
Artist: Johnny Cash
Album: At Folsom Prison
We got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout,
We've been talkin' 'bout Jackson, ever since the fire went out.
I'm goin' to Jackson, I'm gonna mess around,
Yeah, I'm goin' to Jackson,
Look out Jackson town.
Well, go on down to Jackson; go ahead and wreck your health.
Go play your hand you big-talkin' man, make a big fool of yourself,
Yeah, go to Jackson; go comb your hair!
Honey, I'm gonna snowball Jackson.
See if I care.
When I breeze into that city, people gonna stoop and bow. (Hah!)
All them women gonna make me, teach 'em what they don't know how,
I'm goin' to Jackson, you turn-a loose-a my coat.
'Cos I'm goin' to Jackson.
"Goodbye," that's all she wrote.
But they'll laugh at you in Jackson, and I'll be dancin' on a Pony Keg.
They'll lead you 'round town like a scalded hound,
With your tail tucked between your legs,
Yeah, go to Jackson, you big-talkin' man.
And I'll be waitin' in Jackson, behind my Jaypan Fan,
Well now, we got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper Sprout,
We've been talkin' 'bout Jackson, ever since the fire went.
I'm goin' to Jackson, and that's a fact.
Yeah, we're goin' to Jackson, ain't never comin' back.
Well, we got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout'
And we've been talkin' 'bout Jackson, ever since the fire went...
(To Fade.)

I LOVE THIS SONG! Makes me and my wife seem a lot younger :)
Which Jackson are they singing about?
i love this song so much
Todd, I'm thinkin' Jackson Mississippi, but what do I know?
I love this song
There’s at little city in Tennessee, between Memhpis and Nashville, called Jackson..?
jackson,as referred to inthe song is mississippi, not the small town in tennessee sadly, because its 6 hours from my house and today i'm going to memphis, i'm memphis bound,
anyway the reason it is this jackson because in the time it was sung jackson was a big bristling busy city loaded with beautiful women, and much better then the small town life they were used to, as goes the song
end
i love all of your songs but my favorite is jackson and walk the line you &june is my favorite people and i love ya'll
No one probably looks at this thing anymore, but the song is set in Jackson, CA believe it or not.
i hecka like thz song hella much
Im gonna go buy the movie
No offense but I don't think Jackson is intended as a place so much as it is intended to evoke... Ummm well, listen to the way they pronounce it in the song. Its the story of a couple that got married in haste, and now they don't like each other and they probably aren't happy sexually. So they are going to JACKson. N'est pas?
Love this song
Its "Turn loose my COLT" as in young horse. (make sense, you would "turn out" a horse that was not going to be in work.
And totally disagree on the sexual "JACKson" idea! Jackson was a lawless gold rush city. A place to go to cut loose.
Oh, and its "Scolded" hound, you know, one that has been repremanded. Not burnt!
You all have to check out Lee Hazelwood's version, duetting with Nancy Sinatra...!!!
Jackson Tenn! Is there anywhere elese??
I always thought it was Jackson, Wyoming. But they used it in the movie "The Help," which is set in Jackson, Mississippi. Does anybody really know?
