Thirteen Lyrics
Artist: Johnny Cash
Album: American Recordings
Bad luck wind been blowin' at my back
I was born to bring trouble to wherever I'm at
Got the number 13 tattooed on my neck
When the ink starts to itch, then the black will turn to red
I was born in the soul of misery
Never had me a name
They just gave me the number when I was young
Got a long line of heartache, I carry it well
The list of lives I've broken reach from here to hell
Bad luck wind been blowin' at my back
I pray you don't look at me, I pray I don't look back
I was born in the soul of misery
Never had me a name
They just gave me the number when I was young
I was born in the soul of misery
Never had me a name
They just gave me the number when I was young
They just gave me the number when I was young

Missing Lyrics:
There's a verse missing here, which goes as follows:
Gonna find me a preacher man, confess'em all I've done; or you can catch me with the devil, playin' twenty-one; bad luck win been blowin' at my back; I pray you don' look'at me I pray I don't look back;
Like all of Johnny's songs, it's a terrific example of the bridge between prisoner life and a person's normal day to day life. True philosophy through song. =)
This song was written for JC by Glenn Danzig of the Misfits/Danzig.
This song was written by Glen Danzig for Johnny Cash
Johnny recorded two versions of the song. One with the lyrics above and one with the added verse that Pain wrote in the above comment.
Were Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison Satanists?
Cash was a Satanist and long-time friend of fellow Satanist Billy Graham. Have not researched Orbison yet. Most have to pledge their allegiance to satan to become famous in this world. A few do get promoted if they have great talent, but usually later on after pressure from those in control often do give their allegiance to the devil.
