Grow Old With Me Lyrics
Artist: Mary Chapin Carpenter
Album: Party Doll & Other Favorites
(John Lennon)
Grow old along with me
The best is yet to be
When our time has come
We will be as one
God bless our love
God bless our love
Grow old along with me
Two branches of one tree
Face the setting sun
When the day is done
God bless our love
God bless our love
Spending our lives together
Man and wife together
World without end
World without end
Grow old along with me
Whatever fate decrees
We will see it through
For our love is true
God bless our love
God bless our love

I'm think I'm singing this song to my future husband at our wedding when he and I get married in July this year :) It's a gorgeous song and so loving and poetic. John Lennon did an amazing job writing it and Mary Chapin Carpenter did a beautiful job singing it.
I have loved this song since the first time I heard it. I will have it played at my April 3rd wedding and use some of the lyrics in our invitations!

This song is so beautiful. It's my mom and dad's song and I'm singing it for my best friend's mom's wedding.
This is a beautiful lyric, but I wonder why no one has acknowledged that the first 2 lines were taken, unchanged, from Grow old along with me, in Rabbi Ben Ezra, by Robert Browning (1812-1889).
I agree stan! The first 2 lines are by Robert Browning! I loved the song after i was inspired by Browning's quote. I think the song is inspired by Browningslines too, and i would love to think that! =)
Mary Chapin Carpenter did not write the music or lyrics to this song. This is actually one of the last songs written by John Lennon. He wrote it in dedication to Yoko Ono.
My husband and I danced to this song at our wedding 13 years ago, just goes to show this song is so timeless. Beautiful then, still beautiful today.
