Of all of Michael's songs this has to be the most popular, the most well known. Everyone of his fans I know knows the notes, the lyrics and the chords. and it used to be that at every concert I went to and he performed it the entire crowd was singing it with him, in unison and in key. Its also one of the most playable and I've done it at campfires, rallies and groups. (sorry about not getting the performance rights, man. You just can't keep something like that in a cage).

I first heard your song called friends when I was at a retreat at the age of 14. I am now 42 years old. I loved it then and I still love it to this day. It brings back all of the old memories and emotions that I hold so close to my heart. The love that our youth group held for each other and the friendships that we thought would last forever. As the years have gone by, we have all gone our separate ways in life and unfortunately we have all lost contact. I hope and pray that wherever they are, they will never forget our times shared.....laughter, tears, love, and prayers. May god bless them all and may god bless you for your song that made that time so special for us all.
