Mona Lisa Lyrics
Artist: Nat King Cole
Album: Mona Lisa
Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa, men have named you
You're so like the lady with the mystic smile
Is it only 'cause you're lonely they have blamed you?
For that Mona Lisa strangeness in your smile?
Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa?
Or is this your way to hide a broken heart?
Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep
They just lie there and they die there
Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa?
Or just a cold and lonely lovely work of art?
Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa?
Or is this your way to hide a broken heart?
Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep
They just lie there and they die there
Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa?
Or just a cold and lonely lovely work of art?
Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa

Don't know why, but when my daughter was a newborn and for awhile after that, I use to sing this beautiful song to her. I knew only a few lyrics, and I would sing "MonaSammie" instead of Monalisa, as my daughter's name was Samantha. She is now with Our Lord and when I hear this song it saddens, yet makes my heart smile.
Love this song so much! Its very beautiful.
It is one of them most unforgetable song. Nat King Cole will be forver be remembered for this song
I'm singing it right this minute...beautiful. What a wonderful melody. Haunting.
The painting of the Mona Lisa in the Louvre is most import in art history because of her eyes. They follow you around the room.
The technique of making eyes appear to be following you around the room was first perfected, in art history, by Leonardo Divinci.
Nat King Cole divised a song about the painting that provided the information that she smiled her demure smile because she was trying to attract a lover.
Her lover was Leanardo Divinci or someone disprove that theory.
Nice Blog.
Good luck on this one.
