From The Morning Lyrics
Artist: Nick Drake
Album: Way To Blue
A day once dawned, and it was beautiful
A day once dawned from the ground
Then the night she fell
And the air was beautiful
The night she fell all around.
So look see the days
The endless coloured ways
And go play the game that you learnt
From the morning.
And now we rise
And we are everywhere
And now we rise from the ground
And see she flies
And she is everywhere
See she flies all around
So look see the sights
The endless summer nights
And go play the game that you learnt
From the morning.

Beautiful Song and awesome lyrics. I never knew who sang this and it's so sad that he died so damn young. But this song is a beautiful serene song.
The lyrics might mean something, but I have an idea about something else. Notes in a song give a vague impression of a mood while words usually are more exact and discuss some specific story with a mood felt through the choice of words. But can't words, like notes be used to vaguely express a mood rather than a specific meaning. This song may be purposefully vague lyrically in order to express the mood we feel when we think about the cycle of time. For instance, instead of writing "I like chocolate cake because it tastes good and reminds me of my fifth birthday party," I could say "delightly soft, creamy darkness, warming heart, safety, smiles." One is specific, but one connotes the mood without any inherent meaning. Why not write a song with that in mind?
Every word makes perfect sense. When you experience it you will understand. This is on true beauty
The words make perfect sense to me. Meanings is right that lyrics tend to create mood. In this case Drake first tells a story of a sunrise that recreates the feeling you get on rare occasions when you see a sunrise actually notice just how god damn beautiful and temporary life can be. Then Drake ends the song with the advice to BE like that sunrise.
It's an awesome song.
