Paper Cuts Lyrics

Artist: Nirvana
Album: Bleach

When I'm feeling tired
She pushes food through the door
I crawl towards the cracks of light
Sometimes I can't find my way
Newspapers spread around)
Soaking all that they can
A cleaning is due again
A good hosing down
The lady whom I feel maternal love for
Cannot look me in the eyes
But I see hers and they are blue
And they cock and twist and masturbate
I said so
Nirvana
Black windows of paint
I scratch with my nails
I see others just like me
Why do they not try to escape?
They bring out the older ones
They point at my way
They come with the flashing lights
And take my family away
And very later I have learned to
Accept some friends of ridicule
My whole existence is for your amusement
And that is why I'm here with you!
Ow...to take you with me...
Your right

One of my favorite Nirvana songs and awesome lyrics.
by gillian on 3/2/2009 9:48am
personally, i think that kurt cobain is pretty damn high up there on the list of best song writers/singers/artists ever. alongside him of course are artists like bob marley, phil lynott, jimi henrix, bradley nowell, john lennon and paul mccartney. hell, i could compare kurt to louis armstrong or sarah vaughn. his death marked the end of true grunge, but what he gave us was magic. just like bob marley said “My music will go on forever. Maybe it’s a fool say that, but when me know facts me can say facts. My music will go on forever.”

Erroneous Lyric Alert!

At my feeding time
She push food through the door
I crawl towards the cracks of light
Sometimes I can't find my way
Newspapers spread around
Soaking all that they can
A cleaning is due again
A good hosing down
The lady whom I feel maternal love for
Cannot look me in the eyes
But I see hers and they are blue
And they cock and twitch and masturbate
I said so
Nirvana
Black windows of paint
I scratch with my nails
I see others just like me
Why do they not try to escape?
They bring out the older ones
They point at my way
They come with the flashing lights
And take my family away
And very later I have learned to
Accept some friends of ridicule
My whole existence is for your amusement
And that is why I'm here with you!

This song is about a family that kept their kids locked up in a room.
by jcrom on 4/29/2010 9:17pm
Based on a true story about some woman who locked her kids in the attic. Just like the book Flowers in the Attic.
by sxsxsxs on 5/28/2010 6:32am

It's about a true story in Aberdeen that a family locked their childrens in a room without any windows because the parents thought that the outside world was bad.
by zxzxzx on 7/26/2010 9:30pm
just like joe i agree this song is based on atrue history and a family kurt actualy meet
by Jason Beaudoin on 12/22/2010 6:28pm
I just read in Everett True's Nirvana biography that this song is about a family in Aberdeen that locked their kids in the attic only appearing to feed them. The mother/father or both (not sure) put newspaper all over the floor and that was their toilet. Pretty sick shit, but an amazing song nonetheless.
by WhoCares? on 1/10/2011 12:06am
This lyrics describe my situation. word for word.
the woman i would die for cannot look me in the eyes aswell.... and her heart-rending beautiful eyes are blue. i feel imprisoned sometimes, but if i would escape, i would get insane.
I´ve been listening to Nirvana for years, but never befor it touched me like now
by bawbag on 1/27/2011 7:36am
whocares?, your a fuckin homo!
by Bob Lablaw on 8/29/2011 2:20am
Bawbag.... I think you see, to be confused.

If whocares? is a guy and talking about a woman passionately; that would indicate that he is in fact a heterosexual.

You are just a pathetic little fuckin tool.

Kurbain would have punched your fuckin teeth in if he heard you carrying on like that.

You pathetic little fucking dweeb...

Awesome song by the way hehe!
by DoneAndDone on 9/6/2011 6:13am
WHAT? None of you know - this is a true story about someone who kept their children as slaves in the BASEMENT!! Its not about him, besides he wasn't even IN Rehab at the time this was written. Anyway - really deep song, amazing lyrics.
by Fan on 12/30/2011 6:31pm
I really think this song is just about a puppy who gets locked away everyday? and is alone in its cage........
by laz on 3/11/2012 5:28am
the blue eye thing is about his mother
by Cat on 10/28/2012 9:44pm
In 1989 Kurt Cobain was not yet famous, Bleach is his first album. Think people!
