The lyrics seem to point in two directions. On one end of the spectrum, the words seem to deem suicide as an act that should be discouraged. Lines like "Don't you try to die, like me," and "This is for me, and me only, cowards only" signify negative connotations. On the other end of the spectrum, we have passages such as "Why would you help anyone who doesn't want it," and when a mind's made up to go ahead and die?"; these seem to dictate an opinion that if someone is truly tired of life and its struggle, there is no purpose persuading. This could be a possible metaphor, considering Phil is/was a drug addict. Most people do not understand that psychology cannot help someone who does not want to cease usage. This song is a masterpiece, as is almost any Pantera song. Dimebag will be missed by many forever: he was truly one of a kind and a tremendously talented musician.
