You Belong To Me Lyrics
Artist: Patsy Cline
Album: You Belong To Me
Written by Pee Wee King, Chilton Price and Redd Stewart
(As recorded by Jim Reeves, 6/25/57)
See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sunrise on a tropic isle
Just remember darlin' all the while
You belong to me
See the market place in Old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember when a dream appears
You belong to me
I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too, and blue
Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember 'til you're home again
You belong to me
(This portion, sung by background singers,
omitted in later release)
(I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too, and blue)
Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember 'til you're home again
You belong to me
(Repeat last verse)

I'm gonna be so alone without you
And I'm hopin' maybe you'll be lonesome, too, and blue
Fly that ocean in a silver plane

Just remember til you're home again
You belong to me

This song makes me cry every time I here it.
always think of my brother he loved this song sadly he no longer here.
Only modesty prevents me from revealing,
while this song was playing on the radio
what I was clumsily doing for the first time.
Pat Boone recorded this song too.
You've got to hear Dean Martin sing
this song. It will melt your heart
away in the memory lane.
This song was covered by Rhonda Shepard in one of the Ally McBeal episodes and I have the soundtrack. This is now my childrens lullaby when they go to bed and will be a tune passed down for generations - its beautiful!
i love this song, my dad used to sing it to me ALL the time when i was little. it really reminds me of when i was a baby and even today, i sing it with him.
For some unknown reason I woke up this morning with You Belong to Me in mind and I was singing it without finding the words. I haven't heard the song for years and I'm really not sure what prompted this dream. All day the tune came back to me until some good guy suggested I look it up in Google, which I did. Thanks!
Dreamt last night with this song on my mind. Thanks for reminding me of the lyrics which I knew of pat when I was drafted in 1956.
The hopeless romantic in me was in awe when he heard it for the first time as sung by Bette Midler in a movie Down And Out In Beverly Hills - an instant favourite indeed!
I have sung with an oldies band for several years but somehow overlooked this song. A friend has asked me to sing it at her husband's b-day party this year. This is a great classic song-has an "international" feel to it.
As far as I know this great song was first recorded by Vera Lynn during or shortly after WW2

My mom who was a "song bird" back in the 40's and 50's sang this song at the first night club I was allowed to go to when I was 8. She sang it along with "Indian Love Call."
Thanks. I love this song.
I have had this song in my head since I learned I am pregnant, and I cannot help but cry as I watch my stomach swell with life and recall the sound of Patsy Cline singing this beautiful ballad over the radio as I played in my grandparents' kitchen when I was small. It reminds me of their love as well as the love they gave to me, and will be the lullaby I softly sing to my child when I am holding my baby at last.
