Put Your Head On My Shoulder Lyrics
Artist: Paul Anka
Put your head on my shoulder
Hold me in your arms, baby
Squeeze me oh so tight
Show me that you love me too
Put your lips next to mine, dear
Won't you kiss me once, baby
Just a kiss goodnight, may be
You and I will fall in love
People say that love's a game
A game you just can't win
If there's a way
I'll find it somebody
And then this fool with rush in
Put your head on my shoulder
Whisper in my ear, baby
Words I want to hear
Tell me, tell me that you love me too.
Put your head on my shoulder
Whisper in my ear, baby
Words I want to hear, baby
Put your head on my shoulder

Comments/Interpretations
The lyrics are not right writen
Damaris Gonzalez, you're a tool - these lyrics are exactly how he sung them - if you think they're wrong chances are you've been listening to some shitty new version, not the original by Paul Anka
well damaris....they look pretty 'right' to me
First of all, you mean *written correctly.
Second of all, you're right.
It's supposed to say "If there's a way, I'll find it someday." Not somebody.
:)
I don't know why somebody wants to be so rude, but I seriously doubt that the word "with" is correct in #3 last line:
"And then this fool with rush in"
Take it easy people.
Here is how it should be.
"If there is a way, i'll find it someday. and then this fool will rush in". settled ?
A DJ played this at a wedding this month that I attended. I never realized it was such a lovely song. Then he went back to the rock and riot (i.e. rap and jungle beat stuff), but it was the only stuff that got the Twenty somethings on the dance floor. How sad that an entire generation does not dance cheek to cheek.
this reminds me and my girl maria
she is alwas there wene i nneed her and i llove this song
3rd line should end in someday not somebody...
People say that love's a game
A game you just can't win
If there's a way
I'll find it somebody
And then this fool with rush in
3rd line should end in someday not somebody...
People say that love's a game
A game you just can't win
If there's a way
I'll find it somebody
And then this fool with rush in
also, third line should be maybe, one word:
Put your lips next to mine, dear
Won't you kiss me once, baby
Just a kiss goodnight, may be
You and I will fall in love
i was growing up when this came out.
and you are all wrong.
the real lyrics are
some day and not some body.
thanks.
all of you are super dumbbb
This song is my mother. It's one of the few songs i remember her singing as a young girl and when i am at work i sing it to myself and think of her. Blanche is her name and shes been gone 20 years
soo beng ,,you are the right one among them all this is the way it should have been written ,and yes Damaris you are right too the lyrics are not well written .so guys read the lines well before complaining about others.
missing a few verses
44 years ago i was but 5 foot even as we graduayed 8th grade she was 5 ft 5 . EVERY graduation party we snook off to someone would put this 45 on the turntable and insist we dance. At our ten year reunion from HS Union Hill, Union City, NJ class of 69 i asked the dj to put it on without a dedication and those from our grammar school class yelled for us to dance this time she could put her head on my shoulder Baby
Put your head on my shoulder
Whisper in my ear, baby
Words I want to hear
Tell me, tell me that you love me too.
And she did whisper the words i wated 15 years to hear but alas she was married to a lawyer. And soon we may meet again at our 4oth and i am a changed person fer sure.
best song
Aint no more songs like this anymore. We should cherish this song. Paul is the man
no me gusto
This is a song I love to sing to my daughter. I didn't know the correct lyrics but I don't think she cares. She is only 10 months old. Stella!!!
This song means a lot to me, and a few of you have it right.
thanks
I really like this song and i wish more people my age would like this music. I'm 16.:)
This is a lovely song....makes me feel really good even though its an old song....thank you Paul!
it cracks me up hw may pple will comment on these
The song is very lovely,I am so sad they don't write songs now like the fifties.
If there's a way I'll find it someday
and then this fool will rush in
ohhhhhhh shut up its a nice song
Paul Ankas one of the best
The words are wrong. Most of the comments are correct.
I love this song. Its someday not somebody. Anyway its okay.i dedicated this song to my girl friend who love me so much.
I love this song too much...this song is my lover........
I love this song n i have no words
I love this song n i have no words. when i listen this then i feel relax
Damaris Gonzalez.
U r A tool! Really!
these are the exact words from him they were also sung by Donny Osnod many years later
I like to have intercourse to this song. There, i said it. Its true too. It brings me a pleasure much greater than that of masturbation.
Damaris is right. Verse three, line four = I'll find it someday, NOT somebody.
If your going to suggest that you know the lyrics and then berate someone for telling you when you get them wrong, then you, my friend, are the TOOL!!!
Paul Anka was and still is one of th best
I'll find it SOMEDAY
And then this fool WILL rush in
this song came out when i was 17y/o and madly in love with my 1st cousin.(i know, sick, huh?)but you never SAW how beautiful she looked inside and out.
guddddd
This is one of the most beautiful songs you can sing to your beloved or your pretended, sure she will want to hear those beautiful words you never tell anyone else.
I'm 22 and I finally got the name to this song recently. I've known the lyrics since I was a kid and finally figured out what it was called. Too bad we don't have music to this caliber these days
The places where there are mistakes are obvious to anyone who genuinely comprehends the English language. So enough said already. I still sing this song at KARAOKE nights and wherever I hear it. I always sing along. Paul Anka is a Canadian legend who rivaled Elvis back in the day.
Stop bickering and just ENJOY !
Well folks, there are some obvious grammar errors and some words are incorrect. These are minor details and the song is as good today as it was back in '59. This song is a timeless classic and everyone I know has memories that go with it.
I agree, just enjoy it and stop bickering !
someday not somebody
