Harden My Heart Lyrics
Artist: Quarterflash
Cryin' on the corner, waitin' in the rain
I swear I'll never, ever wait again
You gave me your word..but words for you are lies
Darlin' in my wildest dreams, I never thought I'd go
But it's time to let you know....oh...
Chorus:
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
I'm gonna turn...and...leave you here.....
All of my life I've been waitin' in the rain
I've been waiting for a feeling...that never, ever came
It feels so close, but always disappears....
Darlin', in your wildest dreams, you never had a clue...
But it's time you got the news......oooo....
Repeat Chorus
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
I'm gonna harden my heart
I'm gonna swallow my tears
Harden my heart...harden my heart...
swallow my tears
I'm gonna harden my heart....

I love this song- first heard it in the Broadway musical Rock of Ages (as sung by Amy Spanger) but I looked for the original and it's fabulous! I agree, it is very much like Pat Benatar, but I love it just the same.
I love this song. It says so much without really saying much. This was back when songs were much simpler.
I've been waiting for Quarterflash to do some more songs, now. I saw them on a show and was surprised to hear the sax player was the singer and a third grade teacher! Please, Colleen, tell them we would like some more...
Nice song, heard it on the radio but never knew who sang it. I thought it was PatB, or Heart, LOve that guitar!!
One of the all time greats tunes! Now that I find out that the sax player and the lead singer are the same hugely talented person, I am totaly in love! That Voice and then that sax ability. That woman is a Goddess!

When the song was out I didn't like it that much.. It was on the radio constantly.. we still have those don't we? Radios?. Anyway, I was 11 when it was released. Thirty years later and my heart is now a cold black stone. This song rocks!

15 years old, and i'm in LOVE with this song! <3 I was raised the RIGHT way :)
I love this song when julianne hough and some of the cast sang it in Rock Of Ages
I love this song, my mother listened to this when I was a baby. I heard this again in a rock of ages film
I love the message of this song... Its speaks to you the most when an ex bf is to insecure about himself.... I absolutely love saxophone part.. I'm 15 and I love this song it speaks to me.... It tells me this guy was just a waste of time and I'm glad I'm gone cause now he knows what he lost... same like all you lovely ladies
I just watched rock of ages, which in my opinion sucks but the soundtrack it's just great. I was wondering who plays that song, I've heard it many times before ...... the funny thing is I've got it in one of those old CD collections from the 80's.... great song.....QUARTERFLASH!!!!!
The Sax fucking rocks!
I was born in the late 90s, but I Love 80s music. I love this song ever since I first heard it. Long live 80s music.
I love this song, it just about sums up all my failed relationships! Never will I take any crap again!
I often receive information in the form of images, words, or even songs when I am in a semi-awake state right before I awake in the morning. This information I receive is usually an answer to some issue that I am in the process of working out. Well, this morning I awoke to this song. Just for the record - I haven't heard this song in over 15 years, and it isn't a song I particularly like ( no offense to those who like it). Then, I heard it in the grocery store this afternoon! I think I figured out the significance of why this song was brought to my attention twice in one day. I just thought I would share this interesting occurrence.
Like many others, I get real pumped:up when I hear it - makes me feel like jumping up and dancing ... I'm 71, too! Rindy was quoted as saying that she's able to convey feelings with the saxophone that can't be put into words in the lyrics. I was in a cafe this morning with coffee, and had just heard this song on the truck's radio so I looked up the title on Yahoo, and read a lot of bio info on Rindy ... VERY INTERESTING PERSON - the kind you'd like to hang out with !
