The Stein Song (University Of Maine) Lyrics
Artist: Rudy Vallee
Oh, fill the steins to dear old Maine
Shout till the rafters ring
Stand and drink a toast once again
Let every loyal Maine man sing
Then drink to all the happy hours
Drink to the careless days
Drink to Maine, our alma mater
The college of our hearts always
To the trees, to the sky, to the Spring and its glorious happiness
To the youth, to the fire, to the light that is moving and calling us
To the gods, to the fate, to the rulers of men and their destinies
To the lips, to the eyes, to the girls who will love us someday
Oh, fill the steins to dear old Maine
Shout till the rafters ring
Stand and drink a toast once again
Let every loyal Maine man sing
Then drink to all the happy hours
Drink to the careless days
Drink to Maine, our alma mater
The college of our hearts always
To the trees, to the sky, to the Spring and its glorious happiness
To the youth, to the fire, to the light that is moving and calling us
To the gods, to the fate, to the rulers of men and their destinies
To the lips, to the eyes, to the girls who will love us someday
Oh, fill the steins to dear old Maine
Shout till the rafters ring
Stand and drink a toast once again
Let every loyal Maine man sing
Then drink to all the happy hours
Drink to the careless days
Drink to Maine, our alma mater
The college of our hearts always

Comments/Interpretations
as a YALE alumnus I have always envied this song. Yale has nothing to compare; only the stein song from "The Student Prince" is in the same class

This song is great; I remember hearing Rudy Vallee ("Hi, Ho, Everybody!") sing it on the radio.
I reminds me of the drinking song in "The Student Prince," and I wonder if the Victor Herbert piece inspired the author of the Stein Song.
Thanks for making it available
I once heard a rude version I only heard once. All I can recall is Shout till the rafters ring, became Sh-t till the rafters stink. Cannot find full lyrics!
