The images in this song are half
Viet-nam and half South Florida.
Although I like the lyrics, I don't spend too much time trying to figure them out. What I really like about this song is Donald's
beautiful melody. I'd like to hear this song done by a full-voice choir to highlight the beauty of the melody. The Sax solo is also marvelous. I know who it is but can't remember his name at the moment. Great musician!

Dr Wu is 'heroin'.

But who/what is 'Katy'?

Or is Dr Wu the 'dealer'...and Katy is 'heroin' (doesn't seem to fit).

According to SteelyDanDictionay.com, Dr. Wu is not heroin nor is he a smack dealer. There was a real Dr. Wu. Please google "jing yuan wu" and you'll find a wealth of information about this practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine. Donald Fagan claims otherwise, however, so unless he was putting everyone on, Wu is indeed a dope habit. Fagan wouldn't put us on, would he? 8^)
