I just wanted to say that Ive loved this song ever since it came out..I think I was about 11 years old. My sister who is 5 yrs older than me bought it and she played the cassette. All I could do was stop, Listen and let it fill my senses as it played...how beautiful and majestic this song really is. Thank you Stevie...Ive always loved your music, voice and mind that has been recorded for everyone to listen to.

My girlfriend and I of 10 years just split up, and as I listen to this... I now wonder which was the beauty and which was the beast. She was my soulmate... My love... My life. Sometimes you have to realize that even you can't solve your own loves battles within. I tried for so long. 10 years took all of me and it still wasn't enough . I wish her well and all the love I have.

Stephanie I too had a relationship for 10 years and just split up this year ! She too was the love of my life, however she became mentally ill. I guess she was the beast and I the beauty. I too try so hard. However, I had the most 10 wonderful years with her and I still believe that I will love again because love it the best. Thank you Stevie for this song.

To Stephanie- I'm so sorry for your pain. I have experienced the same thing but on the other end of the scale. He never gave me the chance...he could not see the beauty within himself that I could see. I believe I did fall in his shadow, old child that he is..so blind, so beautiful, such a prisoner in disguise. Hard to say who was beauty who was beast....Love's best to you

i sat in my car a cried, as i listened to this song, Stevie. You sang into my soul. i am the beast, and, after several decades, she's leaving. As kids, when it all began, i think we were "in love" with love. i, at least, didn't know what love was. It's taken me years, and i'm not sure if i even know what it is now. But can you love someone so much that you desperatly want them happy, and the only way she can be happy is to let her go and pray that she finds that man who can give her what she wants/needs?

My brother & I use to listen to this song years ago. He was gay and for some reason this song reminds me of his life and the ups & downs of being gay. My brother died Feb. 19th it will be 3 years & I still miss him a lot. Thank you for this song there's something about it!!!

This is a love song to no other than Lucifer, the Devil. In the bible, Satan is also known as "the beast". Other attributes contained in the lyrics indicate this as well. "...lives in a world that is not mine", "An 'old' child..out of time", and "Timeless Creature". The songs Gate and Garden and Sable on Blond is also about Satan and probably the rest of the album. The music industry is controlled by Satan, there are plenty of videos about this fact if you search.

A friend of mine burned some old songs for me. When I heard this I was working on the laptop. I just stopped and stared at the speakers. It left me breathless and tears in my eyes. Ever since Stevie did Songbird, her voice is at the pinnacle of my favourite singer / songwriters. This is a magical piece of music and will be close for always. As for the comments of "Nobody"on 9/6/12...well, just get a life, stop thinking too deeply and enjoy the moment. In fact, you should do yourself and everyone around a favour and stop thinking altogether.

The song over all is beautiful,but i was sold on the sounds of the orchestra and it just put me into a whole nother world and I just wanna listen over and over again the violins even just were incredible, and I totally think of this as a love song and she's torn between the man is beauty of aman but he is in a world that is crime and unjustice.

This song sounds so satanic! It’s mesmerizing bc satan is the king of music! It’s like being under a spell listening to this and the “beast” is Lucifer 🙄😳Stevie can say what she wants but this is none other than a love song to a DEMON that hates her hates all mankind and I wish she would realize this and GROW UP!!
