Revolution Lyrics

Artist: The Beatles
Album: The White Album

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
Ah

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah...

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
all right, all right, all right
all right, all right, all right

It's a pity that the world is so rotten... In QLD, S7 Fluorosilica has been added to our beautiful clean water for the first time. This is a henious act.

The Beatles song will be used as our theme song, in the fight to right - the restoration of our water, back to the people, not owned and controlled by the STATE OF QLD government. It's a sad day that brings control of the masses, by mass forced fluoridation.

'Revolution' lyrics are spot on for our battle..... ! Love the Beatles.

Revolution? Change the Constitution? There is non so blind as he who will not see.
by Dennis on 8/29/2009 9:13am
Johnny got it right. Can't you idiots see what's in front of your face. The Beetle's knew it then and Obama knows it now. wake up America!!!!!
by Steven on 10/6/2009 9:23pm
This song is decades old,
yet it is so fitting with what is going on right now in America. The line, "But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao/
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow," I liken to those who call the
President a Nazi and carry pictures of
him as Hitler. Even if those people were saying something that made sense,
the name calling makes the world not hear anything else they might have to
say.

I've always loved this song. Classic Chuck Berry chords electrified. Was
just playing it, and came here to read
the lyrics--even though I've known them
since I was kid. Lennon wrote this one
by himself. And what an effort....
by zz top on 10/19/2009 3:27pm

by Jason on 11/21/2009 1:36pm
The song was inspired by the Vietnam War and the student movements around the world in 1968. In The Beatles song "Revolution", has a reference to Mao in the lyrics, "But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao, they ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow", this means that many radicals like Lula, Che, Felipe Calderón, and Díaz Ordaz, carrying pictures of Mao, and they dig against communism.
by randy on 2/16/2010 9:14pm
i love john george paul and ringo
their the best
by TJ on 3/21/2010 7:08pm
Has anyone noticed that this song is basically an anti-violence, anti-Marxist/anti-Communist song. That's what makes it outstanding! It seems that those from the '60s who are in charge now within the Congress have strayed to the far left, which is something that this song tells people NOT to do.

Finally the truth about this song is discovered. It is AGAINST violence and FOR the Constitution and God. We need this song now more than ever. John speaks from the grave... (and his wife should be listening!)
by Bruce on 11/3/2011 2:01am
You got that right Ellie. And the occupy group should also read and understand the song.
by Robert on 11/19/2011 12:43pm
Ellie you are absolutely right the song while not condemning revolution does point out that violent and communism are not roads to change but destruction.
by RANDOM GUY on 12/7/2011 7:04pm
Beatles are ok!
by casey 1956 on 12/17/2011 4:21pm
This song was written in 1972 and
represents what is going on in the
world today.The Beatles were way
ahead of their time and John Lennon
was true visionary that we lost way
too soon.
by Tony on 1/13/2012 4:49pm
We need this song now with the elections and the Occupy Movement. Please, someone, bring out a boombox or start singing it to these people.

by Ned on 7/18/2012 9:38am
Lennon was telling the people of the United States you had better think twice about changing our Constitution and not to go with a nut like Mao.
Obama is Mao recreated we have to vote him out before its to late!
by Rhonda Siegers on 7/18/2012 4:54pm
Did we ever know that Bill Ayres and the, "weather underground" and black panthers and all the other radicals of the time of the 60's went to Lennon to get him on board to take down America and riot because they were the most influential music group in the world and instead of going along with it, he told them he would have to think about it and then proceeded to write this song...it was the END of the radical movement as Lennon in his lyrics tells his feelings and Bill Ayres must have been livid when this came out....Ever wonder now about the assassination of Lennon???????
by Ann Bickel on 7/28/2012 7:58am
The link between Lennon's assassination following the "Revolution" song lyrics' answer to Bill Ayres is quite thought-provoking. Just doesn't seem like a coincidence. Wonder whether the authorities would at least take another look at that?
by Twinkle Toes on 1/14/2013 7:25am
What killed Lennon was a ratbag country; full of guns, & nuts, & gun-nuts...& it's worse now than it was then!
by R on 2/28/2013 10:50am
In response to Ann's comment, Lennon was faced with the same agenda that the Democrat advance now and this ong is the response.

In response to Twinkle toes, a country full of guns was the founders' intent to be a deterrent to any and all oppressors foreign and domestic. Trust that gun bans are always sitting in a drawer waiting for the right "crisis" to sell them to the American people. I never trust those who advocate the bans. They say they'll change the constitution. The Constitution's Bill of rights says the right to keep & bear arms shall not be infringed.
by Nomad on 8/31/2013 1:38pm
The Beatles are over-rated.
This song is the typical pacifist nonsense I would expect from john Lenin. "Free your mind instead" Sure. let's free our minds and ignore that thousands are living and dying on our streets while there are more than enough empty buildings to house them. People go without food when warehouses of grain and other crops are hoarded and destroyed to drive up prices.
iut its not the institution. Oh no, just free your mind. Fuckin hippies.
by sf ward on 2/3/2014 1:09pm

by Oakland Gang on 4/29/2014 4:47am
