This is clearly a song in reference 2 a drug addiction. Day off is no money 2 obtain or possible rehab but he is a hunter 4 the devil is a euphemism for a inclination to find and do drug of choice gun in hand it points my way is a strong description of the addicts need and low lying insight of how it feels to be presented with drug of choice knowing what it could possibly do to users life. Jackasses who think this song is in reference to an "assssin" need to take a critical thinking course in college. Nobody runs from an assassin as they are usually trained to kill leaving behind no witnesses or the story to tell of the demise of the intended victim. If u look into the story behind this song there is none. Duh. The writer doesn't want u 2 know how business just figure it out itself. Ha, if ur smart enough.

It's so nice 2 get away 4 a day either refers 2 a stint in rehab or self strength only via lacking $ to buy the drug of choice. I won't miss him if he goes away and stays away is indicative of one's drug addiction but knows the drug is looming and always available
Gun in hand pointing my way is a description of how strong the drug has had s hold on users life. And obviously guns kill and so do drugs. Ian or whoever's wrote this song doesn't want 2 admit to drug abuse. Even though a huge percentage of people on this earth can sympathize I respect the privacy of the writer and the intelligent lyrics depicting an every day worldwide tragedy. Only those that have been down that road can interpret. I believe that is part of a self healing process. Acknowledging one's own faults Nd weaknesses thus making us fearless and stronger. Who gives a shit what ur neighbor thinks? We all suck live ur life overcome addiction
