The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows when
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with the gladness
Of love for one another
It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share
And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother...

Amazing song with profound lyrics performed brilliantly by the Hollies.
Classic song to be remembered forever I think.
This song reminds me of my brother Tommy who is suffering from Lung Cancer. This song has always reminded me of him. He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother. I love you Tommy.
I miss you dad
Played at my brother Aaron's memorial service yesterday. I miss and love him.
This song is powerful and emotionally stirring as well as inspirational, uplifting and makes you feel so incredibly good.
It is a descriptive song about unity, friendship, compassion and love; being there in the way(s) that are needed and helping any person(s) in you life, on the streets, or on a battle field through all the hard times, instead of just for the good times.
Emotional strength and support.

it's a very meaningful and touching song. we need more songs like this...
made me cry
this song is really meaningful we use this as the background music for ou tribute to my brother who was gunned down and died on the spot,he sufferred 5 gunshot wound and the infitrator is not known,we as his siblings grief on his painful passing away may God forgive his sin and the people beyond the killing.......
Beautiful lyrics. Profound meaning.
I am using these lyrics for:
My Brother's Memorial.
Great song
people should remember these words, again and not have hearts of stones.
It remids me of my father when he was in bed in hospital. I used to help him and I wouldn't care if it was hard to help him to get up. All I wanted was to give him some comfort.
I have a brother with severe learning difficulties. Its been a long road. He's almost 50 but as his older sibling this song is always his tribute ,expressing my love for him, and all that he has taught me(although he cant say a word). This is a song that relates to us and I cry when I hear it.
Actually, the song is not about a blood sibling, its about a man on the battlefield and goes to help his wounded or dying comrad, thus hes like my brother (We are all brothers)so lets help each other. I know lots of people think its about thier own blood brother but listen to the lyrics and you will understand plus it was written and sung in the 60's. This really is a war, military song.
canlio we love u and gonna miss you'll be forever 'n' our corazon r.i.p. 1972-2012 ur my carnalio cleo, clemente angel leonides petunia marilyn cecilia siempre
And and always help each aI dedicate this song to my two sons. For me this song means ,two people helping. each other, whether they are brothers or not. Nonie and Steven, listen carefully to this song and always help each otheras you go forward with your lives, I love you,mom
The song reminds me of sharing, caring and constantly loving to each other no mater what hardships comes.
It's a teaching, that we bear one another's burden.
My friend and I used to sing this song in a karaoke, we belt it out together. Six months ago, my friend died naturally in the middle east. What triggers me most is that he was able to call me twice ( I feel his agony) few hours before he expires. So sad and this is one of my song for him.
My brother Anthony ... died 2005; my remaining brothers mourn his loss every minute of every day. May you all be remembered so fondly BUT remember that every man is your brother. Stop to help, share the love where you can ... it will make you better and heal you.
So very touching! This song is truly a reminder of my brother Mark GC Villagomez who we lost to lung cancer in march 2012! RIP my brother we truly love and miss you to infinity and beyond!!!! ALL THE WAY FROM GUAM!!!!
