This song is used in drug rehabs...it acknowleges that some bad things may have happened to the singer, as well as the person he's singing to, and caused trauma, but says that despite this, you don't have to let it control your life. You don't have to live like a refugee!

A refugee is someone who is fleeing from oppression - love...true love does not oppress or abuse. God is love and seeks that which is lost, if your heart has been "lost" among abuse of any kind, he is there to rescue you...just call out to him, he hears you and sees you.

The song is about a woman doing him wrong that's "what they know but don't talk about" and she tries to put it off on him that's why he says "belive what you wanna belive" and the "revel in your abandon" revel is like enjoyin it. Tom and his guitarist Mike Campbell are the very best at writing and music in my opinion love all their stuff
