Yes it's a cello for the solo but their is strings in the background if you listen closely. So there is some strings there. It might be another cello but they would be playing extremely high. It sounds too smooth for it to be cello for the background. It sounds more like a violin or violins.

this is the ultimate love song, to me. i'm almost scared to share this song with any significant other, because if they're not the one, then it's tainted.
