Her name was Kathy. We had been together for five marvelous years. And then SHE made the decision to leave. We planned it well. It was the holidays. There was, what we knew, was the last of our wonderful lovemakings. And then, she was gone, and I was so alone.
For three sad days, I was in a dark room, alone, with a bottle of Crown Royal, and the continuous sounds of Billy Joel repeating the lyrics of "And So It Goes". My daughter stopped in, for fear she would find her father a victim of suicide. Billy Joel helped me to make it through those 3 horrendous days. And then my life went on. "And so it goes, and so it goes. And you're the only one who knows" Thanks Billy.
