I have never seen little green wheels following me and I am sorry that he had to see them. He must have been really strung out if this is at all based on personal experience. Very trippy. He is a genius!

Never a big Bowie fan but this is a great freaking song--one of the TOP 50 of all time! This is a song about heroin addiction--the valuable friend is his "fix" or needle. Crashing is the "all time low" as "little green wheels" are puddles forming ina spoon while cooking heroin.

Not sure how one who loves rock isnt a Bowie fan, but OKAYYYYY- the valuable friend is the junk itself, little green wheels are like a monkey on the back. One of my faves.
